Impossible to use Jan 15, 2012

I bought this kit because it was pretty, and the patterns are timeless. However, the knitting needles included are impossible to use. I hope no one has bought this for a young person to learn with. They might give up thinking they did something wrong when the stitches refuse to move over the needles properly.
