This is a really cool item...I got it for my father for Christmas and he loved it, but it is a bird feeder, not a bird house. One side of the roof opens to fill with bird seed, and the trunk is hollow...the bird seed flows out and distributes on the square base.

Title says it all. It really is cute and if you're looking for a bird feeder, then buy this. If you're looking for a birdhouse...keep looking.

This item is exactly what I was looking for. A great buy for the price.Item was recieved earlier than expected.Anyone that loves watching small birds and likes a rustic look will enjoy it.
