I bought this thread (black) because the few reviews stated it was great and praised it. However, when I received this joke of a thread, it became very clear that IT IS NOT a HEAVY-DUTY thread. It's quite the opposite, for it is easily broken with one pull of a finger when testing its strength. I currently have some all-purpose Coats threads that are STRONGER than this one from Threadart.
I thought this thread was somewhat similar to a real robust cotton thread (giving to me by my father years ago) that I have that is almost finished -- and I can't find it anywhere; I've even looked in many fabric stores in Miami. This thread that I have is EXTREMELY strong, sturdy, and very difficult to break with a pull of a finger when testing how strong it is, not to mention it is very fine (i.e., THIN). I'm not even sure if such thread even exist anymore.
I guess I'll be continuing my search online to find some real heavy-duty cotton threads, because this one is not even close. I'm not sure if this mercerized cotton thread is what companies today call heavy-duty, nor if these so called heavy-duty threads are substitutions for authentic cotton threads that were made in the past, but this purchased thread is pathetic. I would not recommend this thread to anyone.
Again, this thread IS NOT heavy-duty, thus buy it at your own peril.

This is one of the best purchases I have made for my sewing area. I was soooo tired of changing out the thread constantly. It is a quality product.
