I love these hooks. I used to crochet with aluminum hooks because I liked the feel and smooth way they stitched but these hooks are much better. They have a nice comfortable feel and the yarn slides nicely off as you crochet.

If you've never used Crystalites Crochet Hooks before, you are in for a great experience. Their feel is smooth, and works amazingly well with any type of yarn you use -- including all those new speciality yarns with interesting textures and fibers.
The case is an added bonus, and you will thank yourself every time you go to use a different size hook, and don't have to go looking through the bottom of a plastic shopping bag cluttered with other crafting necessities. The bag unzips on three sides, and you can see through to locate the hook you are searching for, as well. Imagine! You'll always know where your hooks are! The smaller hooks broke after a few projects. I still have the larger hooks. I like the case though.

I bought these hooks as a starter set for myself to re-learn crochet which I haven't done since I was a kid, Figured get the acrylic set until I know I'm really going to get into it before purchasing a large metal set, Thinking I should have gotten the metal ones regardless. I have had these hooks for 2 weeks, they work great! Until the break. I had 2 of them snap in half on me in the past 2 days, the red one last night, the orange one the day before. Now I have to wait to finish my project until my metal ones come in. The thicker ones I dont see breaking, but the blue one down I can see causing a problem, the stitches weren't tight so I'm not sure why it snapped. I give this product 2 stars because the shipping was moderately fast, and what I had expected. but I seriously don't recommend this particular product to anyone. If you want to get into crochet, get the good set rather than this cheap-o one.

These are great hooks. I find that they work really well with acrylic yarns. However, you cannot hold them too tightly or they snap in half. I crochet fairly loosely so they dont' break as often. But I do have to get replacements every now and then. So, if you're working on a "must get done" project and you want to use these hooks, you might want to have a backup just in case. For the smaller hooks, I recommend the aluminum ones.
