 Interesting and informative book on repairing pottery Apr 02, 2000

Repairing Pottery and Porcelain is an in-depth guide to repairing pottery and porcelain. It gets pretty technical at times, but it is written in such a way that a beginner can easily learn the art of pottery repair. Instead of offering only one solution to a problem (i.e. cleaning), it offers many, explaining the differences in each.

A restorer is a resourceful inventor and innovator. Dec 12, 2005

Most people think of a restorer as someone who uses the right glue and can match color. A restorer is really more than that. In my restoration classes I teach new restorers how to think outside the box. Glue and paint is fine, but get past that. A restorer should be willing to go into uncharted teritory and experiment with possibilities. I think this book is on the right track.

I love this book. It is full of details and pictures. It is a great starter book for those who have never restored porcelain. It is really helpful and also details the equipment and materials needed.

Excellent guide to modern methods and materials used in porcelain restoration. Author Acton used these methods in her well respected restoration studio in London.
