As a crafter and sewer a thoughtful friend gave me these electric scissors. They are a Gift from God. What a great invention. Imagine scissors that zip right through brocade like it is nothing. I loved mine so much that I bought one for a friend, The pain in her hands is so bad she can't open a jar. Scissors are torture. The gift was a hit. She LOVES her My-t-Fine scissors. She sends at least one Email a week thanking me for the gift.
I can't say how long they last. I don't use them everyday but so far so good. One neat thing, you can store the recharger in bottom of the scissor stand. So, no lost charger.

Two other people think the My-T-Fine Electric Cutters are good. I don't. I purchased them to cut through quilt batting at my long arm quilting frame. They won't cut the cotton quilt batting which is not thick at all. They will cut through one layer of cotton fabric and that's it. I no longer have the original packing or I would return them. I guess they will be good for cutting Christmas wrap. I'm disappointed in their cutting abilities.

Have cut out four pairs of pants (in cotton) at one time. Made numerous fleece blankets for a farm house cutting through two doubled fleece pieces, shower liners and vinyl + fabric for bags and totes. Worked great. Isn't the best for close curves but whipping along otherwise makes it easy to come back to trim in those instances. I've given 20 of these to family and friends. It beats them borrowing mine.

Great for continuous cutting Sep 21, 2010

I got this to replace my 30 year old electric cord cutter as it finally died. Wasn't sure how this would be due to other reviews. I must say that I was impressed as it cut fabric as well as fake grass as I was working on a project of making baseball themed centerpieces. My hands did not get tired and it was fast. Great for cutting if you have issues with your hands being used in a constant position (carpal tunnel). Very happy to have it.

I recently received this cutter as a gift. They replaced a 35 year-old corded unit that gave up the ghost a long time ago. My old unit vibrated and was very noisy (like a pair of "Snippy" scissor on steroids - remember Snippy scissors?). Frankly I had given up on finding a good pair of power scissors until these came along. My first project with these scissors was to make jean jackets for my twin granddaughters. What a joy to cut through several layers of denim like butter. The styling of these cutters is also pretty cool and they are very comfortable to use. I'm left handed and I didn't notice any issues like I do with the conventional scissors that are for right-handers. I highly recommend this product. I'd give it 5 stars but I haven't had them long enough to evaluate how they will hold up.
