These scissors are great for getting into delicate places that need precision cutting of small threads. Cannot be used on anything thicker than thread. They are decorative as well.

This review is a 'paean' of praise for GINGHER's Lion's Tail embroidery scissors, the 3 1/2" model. with leather sheath & gold-plated handles. Which came first, the reputation /OR/ an avalanche of letters from women thrilled to own a perfect tool? All Gingher shears & scissors have an impeccable reputation and for this reason, the Gingher name "stands on its own."
Of all the small models made by Gingher, this is the one I find most useful. Incidentally, when you present them as bridal gifts, they demonstrate your own good taste! Among artists and hobbyists they are prized for paper cutting of intricate designs. Reviewer mcHAIKU suggests you go to your quilting friends if you actually need more convincing.

For the price alone! May 22, 2011

I bought these on a whim...needed some new scissors for my detail work, and I had never paid attention to the brand, just price. These are fantastic scissors, very sharp and pointed, long thin blades for working around small areas or stiches, and come with a leather protector. When I was at the local chain fabric store, I noticed these scissors were going for TWICE the price of Amazon. I felt like I purchased an even better deal than I initially thought!

When I lost my Gingher embroidery scissors, I felt my world cave in. Once you own a pair of these scissors, any other pair will not do.
They are sharp and very precise. Unlike my cheap replacements I bought, these would easily clip any thread - no more mangled embroidery floss, and no more repeated clippings. Nothing is more frustrating than using a pair of embroidery scissors that refuses to cleanly cut!
I also enjoy using these scissors to trim any loose, long threads from pieces sewn on the sewing machine.
If you do any needlework, these scissors are a must. I personally love to hand embroider, and these scissors make the experience so much more enjoyable. Sharp, lightweight, and attractive - and at a fraction of the retail price on Amazon. The size is perfect, which makes for easy portability and storage in my embroidery box, when taking my projects with me.
Until you have used a pair of Gingher scissors, my ramblings will continue to sound insane. ;) Buy a pair and see for yourself!

I love these little scissors! They are so sharp and good-looking. Gingher can't be beat for crafting scissors. A must for any needlework!
