Weak construction. Oct 16, 2009
By B. Hudson The blades are very sharp but the plastic is so week that it is difficult to cut fabric of substance without a bit of torque. May as well pay the full price and not have to deal with plastic.

I have had these scissors for 15 years and love them. I use them to cut thread, light fabrics, alterations and they are perfect. It's been a great investment for me.

LOVE these too! May 06, 2011
By c2 I had to purchase a pair of these in a hurry when I couldn't find my regular Gingher's to make a school project. I really didn't want to cough up another $40 for the regular metal dressmaker shears so I thought I'd try these. Well, I'm SO pleasantly surprised with this pair of scissors that I had to get another pair! They cut through thick fabric with great ease and I was so surprised! I used them on velvet, thick velvet, and had no problem whatsoever. The only thing I think they needed a bit of help doing is cutting Velcro - but I was cutting both the hook and the loop at the same time. I can do that with my regular Gingher's, however.
All that to say, if you're on a budget but still want a fantastic pair of sewing scissors, grab these guys - they're just fabulous!

Best Shears ever Mar 25, 2011
By Arthur I bought theses shears twenty years ago and was happy to find them online since I haven't been able to find them in a store anywhere. They are as good now as they where twenty years ago. Ever sharp and very tough.
