I bought these on a recommendation made in Coffin's "Shirtmaking" book, and he's right, these scissors are great. They cut curves right up to the thread, they easily slice through several layers of fabric, and they're good for cutting notches in pattern pieces. An all around handy pair of scissors.

A quality product;i.e., well made, balanced, sharp, that is above lower cost department store brands. Therefore, the price point is competitive with other brands.

There is no case supplied with this item even though it was explicitly stated that it would be provided. For the price I paid at close to $25 I am short-changed. Other vendors sell at same price but with box. Perhaps that's why Amazon now reduces the price to below $20. The item is fit for purpose and well-built. So, one star is deducted for inaccurate description.

I got addicted to the quality of Gingher scissors from a Costco special box that had almost everything except these. The 5-inch knife-edge craft scissors are sturdy enough for clipping curves and trimming fabric and small and handy enough for snipping threads. Sharp, with smooth action, and easy to control. I do a lot of hand sewing and they have become indispensable. Also, as a simple, symmetrical small scissor, they are unobtrusive in 18th-century re-enacting.
