This cutter is easy to maneuver with its comfortable scissor-like handle. I like the way the blade retracts behind a plastic protector for safety but can be locked into the open position with a thumb operated button. In the retracted position, the cutter can be slid up to a cutting guide without dragging the blade across your material.
Blade changes are a snap and can be performed in seconds. You'll want to make sure you wipe the manufacturing oil from any new blade before use so that you don't get oil on your material.

I have been using rotary cutters for about 25 years and I remember always having to close them so the kids would not cut themselves and when you are in a hurry it is such a pain to either open or close. Then they got the ones that were easier on your hand and those more and easier cutting until your hand would cramp up--but they were still a bear to open and close. This one is SO very easy I really love it and have had one for 4 years this one I purchased as a gift for someone who I knew would love the ease as much as I do.

I love these cutters. They fit your hand perfectly, and they automatically close to cover the blade when you let go. No more dangerous blade sitting there to nip you when you're unaware. I highly recommend them.

I purchased this item 2 months ago and have found it to be just 'ok'. From day one the blade 'wobbles' slightly, it is in tightly, we have tried re-seated it, even turned the holding mechanism over, thinking perhaps it was put on backward in manufacturing, but that was not the solution. I have put this one with my wrapping paper and use my old one for my sewing projects. Perhaps I just got a faulty one, as I have always been very happy with my Fiskars products. I chose not to return the product, as I can still use it elsewhere.

I needed a cutting tool for a Christmas felt project. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on something i wasn't sure how much i'd use. I purchased this cutter and have been extremely pleased with it. I have never owned a rotary cutter before and I have not been disappointed with this purchase. I am glad I went with this model. I spent a few dollars more to get the cutter that closes up when not in use. I was also excited to find out that there are other styles of blades that can be used with this cutter as well. This cutter really made the difference in my project. It is a great buy for the price.
