Sintered glass-construction is high in surface area for lots of bacteria production. Substrat Pro will also lower nitrites, even in heavy concentrations. Nitrites prevent gill function and are also lethal to fish. Abrasion resistant material prevents dissolving of media into other areas of your tank. Large pore structure makes interval cleaning longer. Substrat Pro is washable and reusable over and over again.
