More action ... Less time to complete game Jul 20, 2004
By M. B. Johnson This game has no board therefore no time is wasted trying to move from one room to another to make accusations. The luck in this game depends on which sleuth cards you draw rather than rolls of the dice. Strategy is the same as the original game only game play moves more quickly with one being able to gather information on nearly every turn they have. Sometimes you can actually eliminate more than one item on your list during your turn. All in all, this is a fun game that you can play over and over again in an evening with out getting bored with it.

Not as good as the board game Sep 03, 2005
By J. Enszer Clue the Card Game is an interesting alternative to the original board game, but it depends more on the luck of the draw.
The basis of the game is similar to the original: you need to determine who committed the crime, what they fled from the mansion in (a hot-air balloon, or an automobile, for instance), and what their destination was. As in the original, everyone holds some of the cards and you have to determine the solution by process of elimination.
In order to do anything on your turn, you must play a card to let you perform an action. For instance, you can make a suggestion, like in the traditional game, or you can play cards that allow everyone to peek at a card from the player on the left, or demand that a player show all his or her vehicle cards, for example. On the whole, the action cards vary in usefulness, and this makes the game depend much more on luck of the draw and less on strategy.
Overall, this is a fun game, but not as well executed as other Clue variants. Given the choice between this game and the board game, I'd play the board game any day.

Better than the board game Dec 19, 2006
By Mrs. M.
"a mom and teacher"
This has become one of our favorite, often played, family games. I like this much better than the board game! When my child (age 9)wants to play a game, this is one of the few that we actually play and enjoy. Yes, as one reviewer noted, there is some luck of the draw involved, but there is definitely stategy too! The only drawback to the card version of the game is probably that you don't really 'get to know' much about the characters as much as you do in the board game.
