Don't get biased by the low price Jan 24, 2010
By MG I bought 15 double pointed needle sets and this ones from the same manufacturer the same day. I was a little afraid of getting all this without trying one set first. Fortunately for me, this needles work great. So far, the gauge is the right one in all the needles I tried (more than half of them, randomly) and they all come with the needles number engraved. They feel very soft to the touch and never get your yarn threads pulled out. And the price is just perfect! (More money for yarn!)
The reason they have only 4 stars is because they don't feel as sturdy as my Clover needles, but close enough to brand name quality. Also, some of them could use a sharper tip (don't get me wrong, the tip is fine, but just a little finer would match my preferences better).
Overall, this is a great deal, the seller (Excel Craft) was very fast in the order processing and shipping and the needles are very good.
Smooth all the way but very fragile Mar 01, 2011
By Kathy Finfrock I liked these needles a lot. Completely smoothe. No snagging anywhere on the needle. The needles feel light weight wise but not like they would snap except for the super small sizes 0-4. There were about 4 that are just a breath larger than the size stated. They wouldn't fit all the way through on the gauge that I had. I don't think it will make a difference as I said, it's just a breath bigger. I think it's a great bargain.
updated 3/2/11 I just snapped the size 8 needle. It was sitting in the car seat when I tossed my purse on it. This is a double edge problem. The needles are so light to work with. Very nice. But the opposite side is that they are as fragile as glass. I am so disappointed that it broke. I guess I'll go back to my aluminum.
